Technical Director - Arable

Keith Norman graduated from the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne in 1981 with an Honours degree in agriculture, specialising in crop production. Since graduation, he followed a career in practical farm management for six years, initially as a working Farm Manager and eventually becoming Arable Manager on a 1200 hectare Estate in Lincolnshire. Keith then changed to a more technically based role supporting Velcourt's team of Farm Managers in crop production technology and managing Velcourts in-house trials activity in 1989.

Keith has worked on technical contracts in Spain, France, Germany and Southern Africa, and has experience of the different growing conditions and crops grown within each of these countries.

Keith manages the R & D project portfolio and takes an active role in business development within the department. He regularly liaises with all the major agrochemical companies to discuss the development of new and existing agrochemicals. Trials protocols are created, discussed and agreed with the client, then carried out by the Velcourt in-house trials team.  All the results remain confidential within Velcourt; only Farm Managers are presented with the findings.
