Farms Director - Northern England
After studying at the Lincolnshire College of Agriculture, Riseholme, Ken spent the early part of his management career on the fertile soils of South Lincolnshire.
He moved to Norfolk when he joined Velcourt in 1985 to manage a 600 hectare irrigated Breckland farm. In 1990 he returned to Lincolnshire to take up the management of a 760 hectare silt land farm on Holbeach Marsh specialising in potatoes, onions, sugar beet, vining peas as well as cereals.
He joined the board of Velcourt Ltd.. in 1991 as Farms Director and is now responsible for the Company's farming operations in the North East, with a team of eight farm managers reporting to him.
Ken is also responsible for the procurement of Velcourt's tractor and machinery fleet, negotiating preferential terms for contract hire or outright purchase. He is also responsible for Human Resources for the Company in particular the Velcourt Management Training Scheme and staff training & development.
