Farms Director - Ukraine
Having left the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester in 1979, Simon worked for private owners in Denmark, Gloucestershire, Cambridgeshire and East Kent before joining Velcourt.
1990 saw Simon appointed by Velcourt as Farm Manager to a 550 hectare business in North Cambridgeshire growing cereals and break crops. This business rapidly grew to be in excess of 1800 hectares on a mixture of heavy and lighter brash soils.
In 1992, in addition to farm management, he assumed responsibility for a consultancy contract with a co-operative in Northern France cropping in excess of 21,000 hectares.
Simon’s overseas experience was further strengthened in 1998 when he serviced a four year contract providing logistical and agronomic advice to a 12,000 hectare CDC Arable and Coffee Project in the Mpongwe area of Zambia,
In 2001, he was appointed Farms Director for Velcourt Kft, where he successfully oversaw the farming of a large arable and dairy farm in Southern Hungary on the Croatian border.
Simon now has the responsibility for Mriya Farm in the Ukraine which comprises of 50,000 hectares of land.
