Farming overseas has been a natural progression for Velcourt and a further example of a pioneering spirit. Improved communication and a requirement for effective technology and farm management systems in a more dynamic global market place provided the incentive for Velcourt to develop the resources required to work overseas. Initially forays into Northern France to provide technical consultancy to co-operatives demonstrated a need for independently generated technology provided by committed management technicians.
Full farm management was the next step with Velcourt having executive control over businesses in Australia, Germany, Portugal, Spain and, more recently, Hungary, Zambia, Ukraine and Russia. In most cases, Velcourt's remuneration was, and is, derived from bottom line profit. Farming systems are created once the business principal's objectives are understood which is wholly consistent with Velcourt's approach to its UK farming activities.
Consistant with our approach to UK farming Velcourt currently invests in overseas farming projects.
