The sun shines for the 2012 Velcourt Summer Conference

The Velcourt Summer Conference - Cotswolds 2012

Every few years Velcourt gathers its whole team together for an outing that combines business with pleasure as a thank you to all the efforts put in across the company.  The Chairman, directors, farm and head office staff, mangers and their assistants all mingle over a two day format that this year saw the group head to the Cotswolds.

On the hottest day of the year so far the team gathered at the picturesque Stowell Park Estate, managed by Velcourt, and were given an insight into the history and the farming operations by farm manager Mike Dewar before embarking on a tour of the wider estate.

The afternoon saw the whole group split into mixed teams in the grounds of the historic Eynsham Hall for a five leg competition under the glaring sun featuring the finely honed skills of blind-driving, quad-biking, mini-cart racing, shooting and archery.  After much rivalry in a closely fought competition there was one clear winning team……………..

……. and of course a losing team!

The evening saw the whole group joined by the team from Case IH tractors to celebrate the 25 year relationship with Velcourt for a drinks reception and evening meal at Eynsham hall.

Day two started with more farming as local Velcourt manager Richard Fanshawe introduced his Cotswold farm businesses.
This was followed by a tour of Richard’s farms at Cornbury Park and Blenheim estates.  Once the farm tour was complete the group disembarked at the figure head of the Blenheim estate the stunning Blenheim Palace where they were given a talk about the intricacies of managing the historic estate and the balance between running a public attraction, a commercial farm, and a family home by Blenheim CEO John Hoy before having a tour round the palace and gardens.

The conference ended with lunch in the grounds of Blenhein Palace on the second hottest day of the year!
