Incident:

A student suffered a head injury whilst drying off a cow. The cow kicked out and the student suffered a cut to his forehead. He was taken to A&E for a further check, but no treatment was needed.


Incident:

A member of staff was driving a farm vehicle down a main road when a car came around the oncoming bend on the wrong side of the road. The member of staff reacted by pulling towards the verge but unfortunately was forced into the ditch. Nobody was seriously hurt but the driver was in shock.


Incident:

Whilst tightening a nut on a digger, the large adjustable spanner slipped injuring the finger nail of the employee.


Incident:

Whilst moving cattle out of a straw yard, a cow stood on an employee’s foot, resulting in the individual going to A&E and being signed off work with a broken toe.


Incident:

A tractor and cultivator were moving along the road when a knock on point fell off the cultivator. Once the operator got to the field and unfolded, he noticed the point was missing so headed back to the yard to see if the point was there but came across two cars on the road leading to the farm – one with a punctured tyre and one with a punctured fuel tank. No one was hurt or injured, but police were called who informed the Council to clear up the fuel spill.
