Management Training Scheme - Velcourt

Velcourt’s Management Training Scheme is an intensive one-year programme in farm management.

Successful applicants spend their first 12 months on either a dairy or an arable farm enterprise where they undertake a combination of practical on-farm instruction, formal classroom-based tuition, and residential courses with a focus on personal development.

After an initial evaluation period (usually working on a Velcourt farm over the harvest), applicants often become a Trainee Farm Manager in the same year. Recruits into the scheme receive a competitive salary and accommodation along with all travelling and training expenses.

The programme is largely bespoke; we match training to an individual’s needs, supporting every trainee to learn everything they need to know from dairy cow nutrition and ration formulation to rotations and crop planning. As a valued member of the Velcourt team, the first year on-farm is just the beginning of the investment we make in bright and talented farm managers of the future.
