The Role
Martin Lodge Farm is seeking three reliable and hardworking Grain carters to join the team for the upcoming Harvest season, starting on 13th July and running through to the end of Harvest in early September.
Set in the heart of Southeast Kent, Velcourt Dover Unit is a picturesque 1,300-hectare arable operation made up of five farms spanning a 15-mile area between Dover and Canterbury. The rotation includes wheat, winter and spring barley, oilseed rape, oats and spring beans.
Duties & Responsibilities:
As a Grain Carter, you will play a crucial role in the smooth and efficient running of the Harvest. Working closely with our experienced Harvest team, you will be responsible for:

Carting grain from the New Holland CR10.90 combine using our Case Pumas with 18t Richard Western grain trailers.

Pushing up grain using a Case Farmlift 742 and Manitou 741-140

Daily machinery checks and basic maintenance of your machinery

Maintaining field records and keeping a clean work environment

Supporting general Harvest tasks as needed
Candidate Requirements:
-
Tractor driving experience preferred but not essential.

Understanding of on-farm health & safety practice.

Able to work long hours during peak periods, including weekends where required

Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic

Full UK driving licence (telehandler ticket a bonus but not essential)

Minimum age 18 years

Evidence of the Right to Work in the UK.
