Tools - Velcourt

Health and safety is of the greatest importance at Velcourt and the farms we manage. We carry out annual risk audits at all our managed farm businesses and invest significant time and resources into health and safety policy, training and updates.

Our people are our most important resource.  We aim to attract, develop, stimulate and retain the best talent in our industry, right throughout Velcourt, so we can deliver the best service possible to our clients’ businesses. We believe that communication is key to successful relationships. We feedback to our clients on a regular basis with comprehensive financial reports covering profitability, cost control and cash flow. We regularly benchmark performance internally and comparisons to external data. Weekly performance statistics and cost of production analyses are used to drive your operation forward.

As the only farm management company in the UK with its own R&D team, we independently verify and conduct our own trials into solutions for challenges we see in-field. Our clients’ farms market grain through Velcourt Marketing Services; a unique marketing vehicle set up through ajoint venture with Openfield, the UK’s largest farmer-owned co-operative. Our managed farm businesses receive daily market updates insightful market reports each month from Openfield and the reassurance that strategic marketing decisions are made on the basis of recommendations from a respected, independent source.

The scale of the farms we manage and advise on enables us to negotiate highly competitive terms when we purchase inputs, fuel and hire machinery. These cost savings are passed on directly to our clients’ farms.
